Low-Wage LMIA — 30 CMAs Frozen

As of April 10, 2026, low-wage LMIA applications are not being processed in 30 census metropolitan areas including Vancouver, Toronto, Winnipeg, Halifax, and Montreal. The list is updated quarterly. Next update: July 10, 2026.

Advertising period doubled from 4 to 8 weeks. New youth recruitment requirement added. Minimum 4 advertising methods now required for low-wage LMIA applications.
