About the Role

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Long Haul Truck Drivers to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will play a vital role in transporting goods across long distances while upholding our commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and drive long-haul trucks to transport goods to various destinations, often across provincial or international borders.
Plan routes and schedules, considering factors such as traffic, weather, and delivery deadlines.
Inspect and maintain the truck, ensuring it is in good working condition and reporting any issues promptly.
Secure cargo for transport, following proper loading and unloading procedures to prevent damage.
Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details in compliance with regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to provide updates on the delivery status.
Adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws, ensuring safe and responsible driving practices.
Assist in the loading and unloading of goods as needed.
Handle unforeseen situations, such as delays or mechanical issues, with professionalism and efficiency.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience as a Long Haul Truck Driver, with a minimum of one year of long-distance driving experience, including cross-border or interprovincial routes if applicable.

  2. Valid Class 1 or Class A driver's license with a clean driving record, in compliance with all applicable regulations.

  3. Knowledge of applicable traffic laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, including those related to the transportation of hazardous materials if applicable.

  4. Excellent driving skills and the ability to operate long-haul trucks safely and efficiently over extended periods.

  5. Strong communication skills for effective communication with dispatchers and clients, providing timely updates on delivery status.

  6. Ability to maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details in accordance with regulations.

  7. Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws, with a focus on safe and responsible driving practices.

  8. Knowledge of proper cargo securing and loading/unloading procedures to prevent damage during transit.

  9. Familiarity with truck maintenance and the ability to perform basic repairs or maintenance checks when necessary.

  10. Physical stamina to endure long hours of driving and the ability to lift heavy cargo when needed.

  11. The ability to work independently and handle unforeseen situations, such as delays or mechanical issues, with professionalism and efficiency.

  12. Flexibility in work hours, including the ability to work extended hours and spend extended periods away from home, as required by the job.
